The Worksop community have come together to support Hope Community Services’ Emergency Bed Appeal, to help provide beds for 8 new homeless people. 

Since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, Hope House hostel has seen a huge increase in people seeking emergency shelter. This is due to a wave of new homeless people made temporarily homeless by the virus, including people like sofa-surfers forced to leave temporary accommodation and women fleeing domestic violence. 

Hope launched the appeal to help buy new beds, mattresses and duvets to increase capacity at Hope House by 60%, from 14 beds to 22. 

Thanks to the support of the community, a total of £1,972 was raised. The appeal was heavily supported by Worksop Sofas, who championed the appeal and provided 8 new beds and mattresses to Hope at a discount.
